Highschool Friends!

August 22, 2008
I had a blast last Friday talking to my highschool batchmates and also friends. Good that we had a long holiday ahead starting on Friday due to Kadayawan festival and on Monday due to National Heroes day. After a tiring day of arranging some used clothing, shoes, bags, toys and other more for my Garage Sale Part 2, me and my best buddy Anna agreed to visit another best buddy Liv after receiving her invitation thru text. At 4PM, off we go to their house which is actually within the village. As we arrived there, we decided to buy some food but we ended up touring the village to visit some of our highschool friends. First stop was at Erwin's residence, sadly, he was in Cebu for a work engagement. Next stop was Mandug. Luckily, Cecille was just sitting outside their house, so we gladly stopped to chit-chat. And since Oman was just living beside Cecille's house, without much ado we invited him to join us.
What followed was a series of picture taking and kamustahan. We had a good time updating each other that we didn't noticed it was already dinner time! So we bade our hischool friends goodbye and instead of buying bbq, we bought a lechon manok for dinner. We went back to Liv's house and prepared our modest viand, with toyo/kalamansi/sili as our side dish. Much to our surprise, Liv actually prepared someting for dessert, macaroni salad! Maybe because we haven't seen each other for so long or maybe because of the setting (under the tree, with the nearby flourescent as our light, not to mention the semi-cold breeze), the 3 of us ate like horses! And surprise, surprise, we finished eating the whole lechon manok over some nth plates of rice and almost finished eating the salad...What an appetite!!!!

Indeed, friends can make our day. I missed my highschool friends, classmates and batchmates (I was not able to attend the informal reunion last May, better luck next time Charms). But I also know, one day soon, we will gather once again and reminisce the good old high school life....
